History:

Casa Grande, Spanish for "Big House", is an agricultural and railroad village in Southern Arizona. It is also home to several industries served by the Casa Grande Switcher Local, which in turn receives cars from the Casa Grande Turn, which is based out of Tucson.

While the historic Southern Pacific station is still standing at 201 W Main St, it is no longer used by Amtrak.

Amtrak 1, the Sunset Limited, thunders through Casa Grande being doubleheaded by AMD-110/Genesis P42DCs 171 and 74. The P42 Genesis is commonly called the Dash 9-42BP or B42-9PH while the P40 Genesis or AMD-103 is commonly called the Dash 8-40BP or B40-8PH.
